STATE OF DBD MOBILE #11: SUPER MYSTERY BOXES

March 11, 2020

Hello People of the Fog,

Last week we made a big announcement: Dead by Daylight Mobile will be launching in spring 2020. The days are very busy as we approach launch, but we’re proud to say that we’re ready to put the game in everyone’s hands very soon.

In the meantime, make sure you pre-register to help unlock the following rewards at launch!

Android users can now officially pre-register in the Google Play Store, and iOS users can pre-register through our website.

This week we also rolled out a new update with the following changes. Make sure to update to this latest version before facing your next Trial!

NEW THIS UPDATE

Super Mystery Boxes

A mobile-exclusive feature, Super Mystery Boxes are a new item that can be acquired in the Bloodmarket. Boxes come in three rarities, and contain varying quantities of Auric Cells, Iridescent Shards, and customization parts. Boxes can only be acquired in the Bloodmarket, using Bloodpoints.

Customizations found in Super Mystery Boxes (Ultra Epic tier boxes only) will be available for a limited period of time, and will change on a regular basis. Pieces will only drop for Characters you already own, and Killer & Survivor customizations will drop only in their corresponding Bloodmarket.

The Into the Wilderness collection will be available in Super Mystery Boxes until the next rotation. Check them out!

Léry’s Memorial Institute: Treatment Theatre Revamp

Last month MacMillan Estate got a revamp, and this time it’s the Treatment Theatre’s turn. Check out first-hand all the hard work the art team has put into improvements.

Balance Changes

Perk Slots
Perk slots used to open at levels 1, 5, 10, and 15. In order to allow players to start playing with a full loadout earlier, we have reduced the levels at which perk slots unlock to 1, 2, 5, and 10.

Survivor item/add-on retention
For balance purposes, Survivor items and add-ons used in a Trial will now be lost of at the end of the match regardless of the outcome.

Balance changes from PC/Console
In order to stay up to date with Dead by Daylight on PC/Console, we periodically merge any applicable balance changes to Mobile. All details can be found here in the patch notes for the following changes:

  • The Doctor gameplay rework
  • The Plague balance changes
  • Hex: Ruin update
  • Sabotage balance changes
  • Gatekeeper Emblem update

General Bug Fixing

Check out the full patch notes for the specifics, but here are the highlights:

  • Black Ward
We fixed issue where the Black Ward offering was not preventing the loss of add-ons; it is now safe to use.
  • Hex Totem
We received a number of reports that the light indicated that a totem was hexed was too dim. We have increased the brightness to make them more visible.
  • Gas Heaven Garage Pallet
A pallet in the garage of Gas Heaven was not breakable, giving an unfair advantage to Survivors. This pallet can now be broken again. Thank you all for your continued support; launch is right around the corner, and we can’t wait to see you in The Fog. The Dead by Daylight Mobile team
